Knowing Al Khidmah: from a small study circle into a community network serving many cities.
Al Khidmah began as a small study circle in Surabaya: a slow-growing circle of learning, from house to house, from one study to the next. What bound it was not a building but the habit of gathering to learn and to help one's neighbors.
From that majlis grew a habit of service: visiting the sick, easing hardship, and providing what the community could for its surroundings.
Over time, those majlis connected into a community with a board structure: center, region, district, and branch. The structure exists not for formality but so that service reaches the right places with proper stewardship.
Today the community's activities span routine studies, memorization education, social and health service, and house-of-worship construction — all still anchored in the majlis as the first school.

To strengthen a community of gathering and service, toward Al Khidmah as an oasis for the world — a source of calm that benefits all who come.
Mission
The community is tiered so service reaches the right place. Each tier coordinates the one below it; example regions appear where data is available.
